Physiological Sciences
Members of the Department of Physiological Sciences conduct cutting edge research
in veterinary and human health, exemplifying the One-Health concept, and are responsible
for teaching the foundational medical disciplines of the structural sciences (gross,
developmental, and comparative anatomy, and histology), systems physiology, and the
influence and actions of xenobiotic chemicals on the body (pharmacology and toxicology).
Areas of research strength and broad impact include innovative cancer treatments,
interdisciplinary toxicology, metabolic disease, aging, comparative exercise physiology,
infectious respiratory disease, regenerative medicine, and neurotoxicology.
